DANCE FROM THE DEEP TO SAVE THE OCEAN
Oliver Heldens, A world-famous DJ is going to make a spectacular ‘free dive’ to the bottom of the ocean.
In one breath, he will make a dive as deep as possible to raise awareness for the global issue of ‘Plastic Soup’: the enormous amount of plastic waste floating around in the ocean, which threatens marine life.
Once he has reached the deepest point of his dive, he will swim towards a deepsea studio.
From this deepsea studio, he will perform an underwater DJ set: ‘Dance from the Deep’.
WORLDWIDE MEDIA EVENT
The free dive and underwater DJ set will be filmed by a camera team and transmitted live to a global audience, including the visitors to Amsterdam Dance Event. The festival visitors gathered in the Amsterdam ArenA will go wild to the beats of the first ever underwater DJ set.
With this brave and extraordinary performance, the DJ will raise awareness for the global environmental issue of Plastic Soup. He will also ask the audience to donate to The Plastic Soup Foundation and the World Wildlife Foundation.
These will make it possible to clean up the majority of the ocean’s plastic. All that is needed is enough funding to inspire people in helping to the solution of this worldwide environmental issue.
